Bring Heart Home

I am so proud and honored to be working with Stage stores again as they partner with the American Heart Association to raise awareness that preventing heart disease starts at home! Maintaining a happy, healthy heart can start with making simple yet healthier decisions, such as choosing an apple as a snack, turning off the TV to read a book or do a puzzle, spending time together as a family at home, and so much more! If you follow me,  you know we stay home a lot throughout the week, especially after I had my second babe. I was simply too stressed to try to keep up my regular schedule and it was just not worth it to me for my overall well being. Staying home now on Tuesdays and Thursdays has taken away that stress, allowed me to spend more time with my children, and has given us time to cook together, do art, read books and just quieted my brain! Our favorite pastime together is reading. I start reading to my babies from pretty much the time they are born, and we have just made it a household hobby. We read throughout the day, before naps and before bedtime. It’s truly amazing the doors it has opened with us with our toddler and the things Finley has learned are MINDBLOWING! (The things I’ve learned as well!) Where was this book on George Washington when I was in high school?! Reading has been shown to decrease stress and depression (great for the heart) and helps promote better night time sleep, whereas screen time does the opposite. Reading a book with your child exposes them to 50% more words then a television show!

Throughout the month of April, Stage stores will be hosting activations and give back initiatives to raise money for American Heart Association (AHA), and you can get involved too!
