I actually love love love meal prepping and our family does it mainly on Sundays for the week. We really do usually eat the same things, rotated every few weeks, and we started Finley just eating what we eat from the beginning. That is THE EASIEST for you! We do not cook him separate food. Finley goes to school Monday/Wednesday/Fridays so I pack snacks and lunch for those days but at home we all eat this too! He always gets a variety of food on his plate and always sides of fruit, veggie with a protein and a carb/sweet thing. Follow my boards on Pinterest to see what I cook every week!
Snacks
pretzels and hummus or veggies and hummus
roasted cauli
cheese sticks
yogurt pouches
cut up fruit-rotate with all different fruit throughout the week. I’ve found Finley doesn’t want to eat the same thing two days in a row.
granola bars
popcorn already popped-we love Trader Joe’s kettle corn
graham crackers/goldfish/vanilla wafers
Meals
This is what I pack for Finley for lunch which are a lot of times leftovers from dinner
Pasta with larger noodles-bowtie or penne so they can pick it up or put it on the fork easily
Sandwiches: turkey and cheese, plain cheese
Turkey burgers/meatballs
Cheese sticks can go here too!
Yogurt pouches can go here too!
Sides
Always a veggie: cucumbers sliced thin, roasted cauliflower, steamed cauliflower, steamed broccoli, sweet potatoes cut into squares (cooking them until they are NOT mushy)
Some sides can be taken from snacks above: i.e. pretzels and hummus
Lots of fruit: sliced watermelon, sliced grapes, sliced apples, bananas
